LEGO® BIONICLE™: Quest for the Toa was released in 2001 on the Game Boy Advance. The game was developed by Saffire and served as a prequel to LEGO® BIONICLE: Legend of Mata Nui. Unfortunately, these plans were never realized as Legend of Mata Nui was cancelled in fall 2001 due to budget and chip compatibility issues. Additionally, the game was originally known as LEGO® BIONICLE™: Tales of the Tohunga, however it was ultimately changed due to controversy from "Tohunga"'s Maori origin.
